Exhorting One Another

Exhorting One Another

1) We need to plant the seed [to show our self a friend]

Matthew 13:3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, sower went fort to sow;

(not all seeds germinate, those that don’t we replant)

not every seed that is planted brings fort fruit, the ones that do show life, we nurture.

Proverbs 18:24a A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly:

2) We can witness to others when we make friends outside our church family.

My profession before retiring, was driving an 18 wheeler, on this job I was able to meet a lot of different people, and as

I met these other drivers I found out that they had come from a lot of different walks of life, some common laborers, some

as doctors, some as lawyers, some wealthy, some not so wealthy, in that way we are able to be friends and witness to

people of all walks of life

   Proverbs 22:2 The rich and poor meet together: The LORD is the maker of them all.

Romans 12:10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another;

One evening I needed work on my truck at a terminal of the company I drove for, while the I was in conversation with a

couple other drivers, with being able to spend time with them I had the opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus with

them and was able to lead and pray with one of them to receive GOD’s gift of Salvation.

3) Once nurtured, there needs to be a new birth

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see

the kingdom of God.

4) With that new birth, we receive a new heart/spirit

Ezeikel 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart

out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

Before the new birth did we have a stony heart, and or a bad spirit? I think that the answer to that would in most if not

all instances could be a yes.

5) With the new birth, we are a new creation

2Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things

are become new.

2Corinthians 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the

ministry of reconciliation;

With the new birth we are changed immediatly, the weight of sin has been lifted off.

6) Having been given the ministry of reconciliation, we need to be rooted in the WORD of GOD

Colossians 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

Colossians 2:7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with

7) To continue to grow,  besides the teaching of the WORD, we also need the fellowship of one another

Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking bread, and in prayers.

one of the ministries in our church is a monthly Men’s Prayer Breakfast, we have breakfast[breaking bread,prayer,and

a devotional, and fellowship follows]

8) With the fellowship, we support one another

Romans 15:1 We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

Romans 15:2 Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good to edification.

9) And we pray for one another

Pray for reconciliation:

2Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in

Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

Pray for spiritual growth

Colossians 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye

might be filled with the knowedge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

Pray for healing

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent

prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

   And finally, we grow spiritually in our walk with God with the teaching and preaching of our Pastor: and to do

that we attend church regularly, read our Bible, pray with and for one another, and have fellowship and

exhort [ which is to invite/comfort ] one another

Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another:

and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

At Church we fellowship/encourage one another, pray for one another, we are re-energized, and re-filled with the Spirit of GOD.
