God Is! Part 1

God Is!

Part 1

There are some questions that have the same answer. There are also some questions that could have a different answer, and then there are questions that could have several answers.

The statement that I made in my blog title for today is one of those things that could have several different answers. Regardless of the situation that you are going through today God is the answer to that situation. I will be covering scriptures to tell us what God Is in additional blogs as well.

  1. God Is A Spirit.

John 4:24 “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

  • Since God is a Spirit, not a person, He can be everywhere at the same time.
  • A Spirit does not have flesh and bones therefore we are not able to see Him.
  • This also means that He knows everything including the situation that we are going through right now.
  1. God Is Light.

1 John 1:5 “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all”

  • We are living in a terrible generation with un-certainties from all directions.
  • There is much darkness, and many people do not sense a direction of light.
  • God is light, and He is our light in this life of darkness.
  1. God Is Love.

1 John 4:16 “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.”

  • There are times that we feel un-loveable, but God always loves us.
  • He does not always love our actions or our ways, but He always loves us un-conditionally.
  • Satan tries to attack us with an inferiority complex by trying to convince us that no one really cares about us.
  • Somebody does care about us and that is God.
  1. God Is Invisible.

Job 23:8-10  “8 Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him: 9 On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him: 10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”

1 Timothy 1:17 “Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

  • Since God is a Spirit we are not able to see Him.
  • He knows the situation that we are going through at this time.
  • He knows enough about us that the hairs of our head are numbered.
  • He also knows us by name.
  • We are not an acquaintance to Him, but He  our friend.
  • Job faced some difficulties in His life, but God was always with him.
  1. God Is Incorruptible.

1 Timothy 1:17 “Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

  • Corruption is all around us.
  • Some people even ask if there is anything that is real.
  • Could it be that the movie and TV industry has helped people to live in a make belief world?
  • I agree that there are a lot of make beliefs in our generation, but there are some things that are very much real.
  • There are some absolutes, and some consequences of choices that are made if we deviate from these truths.
  1. God is Eternal.

Deuteronomy 33:27 ” The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall destroy them.”

Psalms 90:1-2  “Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought fort, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.”

  • It is hard for a human to comprehend that something cannot have a beginning or an ending.
  • God has always been, and He will always be.
  • We can rest underneath His everlasting arms.
  • We must allow Him to destroy our enemies.
  • We must never forget that God will never lose His power.

On my next blog we will look at some of the other attributes of our Great God. Not only does He care about us, He is great and greatly to be praised. The more that we know about God the easier it is to trust Him to do what we need done in our lives.
