Controlling the Tongue

Controlling the Tongue
The tongue is the most troublesome member of the body, The Holy Ghost helps us to control it and use it to bless God and others.

Jas 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
Jas 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
Jas 3:7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
Jas 3:8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
Jas 3:9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
Jas 3:10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

We can use our tongue in many ways, in the natural [the worldly way] we can use our tongue to boast of the things we have done, we can use our tongue to hurt, to ridicule, to accuse, to blame and to tear down, or we can yield our tongue to the Holy Ghost for the purpose of good, for the lifting up, for exalting, for blessing.

Act 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Act 10:46a For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.

If we have given our life over to Jesus, and live for Him, we should yield to the working of the Holy Ghost.
