Law and Grace

Law and Grace
The law was given to be a schoolmaster-[tutor-or instructor] of things to come and make sin evident, although the law was holy, just, and good, it did not give power to live above sin. Only the spirit of Christ resident within the believer can accomplish this.

Deu 17:11 According to the sentence of the law which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, thou shalt do: thou shalt not decline from the sentence which they shall shew thee, to the right hand, nor to the left.

Deu 29:29 The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

Jos 1:7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
Jos 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

So in the Word of God we learn of the law, these are the law of God, and that we are to observe and keep the law, in Galatians chapter 3 we find that the law will teach us.

Gal 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
[schoolmaster]-once again is to tutor or to instruct
What the law cannot do is forgive us our sins, that comes from grace by Jesus.

Joh 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Act 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

So we now know the we need to keep the law, the commandments of God, and that in keeping the commandments alone does not forgive us of our sins, but that the GRACE of God does.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
