Calvary, The Cross And Redemption

Calvary The Cross And Redemption

The study of the Cross is one of the most moving and inspiring of all Bible subjects. At Calvary, Jesus paid the price for mankind’s redemption.

Calvary-the place of Christ’s crucifixion

Mar 15:22 And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull.
Luk 23:33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
Joh 19:17 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:

The Cross-the instrument of death

Mat 27:32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.
Php 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Redemption-through Jesus Christ

Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Col 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Heb 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
Rev 5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

In this study today on Calvary the Cross and Redemption we find that we have been redeemed-[forgiven of our sins] by what Jesus has done on the cross, He shed His blood, died on the cross, but He was raised from the dead, and in that we have eternal life, what we have to do to receive that eternal life in Him is found in Acts 2:37-38

Act 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

If you’ve not yet taken that step, it is our prayer that you will do so today, God Bless.
