Mercy and Grace and Peace with HIS Presence

Mercy and Grace and Peace with HIS Presence

God has promised His children a full life of mercy and grace when they fall, peace when they are worried, and His presence when they are lonely

1) Mercy
[Mercy]=a blessing that is an act of divine favor or compassion

God has promised us His mercy, not just once but forever if we continue in Him
Psa 89:28 My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.

God’s mercy is plentiful, again not once but ongoing
Psa 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
Even if we have fallen in our walk with Him, if we will repent and return to Him, He has promised us His mercy
Isa 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

2) Grace
[Grace]=unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctification

The Grace of God is freely given
Psa 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

The Grace of God empowers men for service
1Co 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
1Co 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

The Grace of God enables us to lead a simple life
2Co 1:12 For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.

3) Peace
[Peace]=freedom from disquieting or oppressive thoughts or emotions

God promises peace as a gift from God
Psa 29:11 The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.

God promises Perfect peace
[Perfect]=safe, prosperous or well
Isa 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

God promises peace that passes all understanding
Php 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

4) God promises us that he will be with us (Present)whether we are lonely or going through trials of any kind

God’s presence when we are lonely
Joh 16:32 Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

God’s presence when we need comfort in trials
Isa 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

God’s presence will give us rest
Exo 33:14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
[rest]=comfort

So the message of hope that we have for today is that God has promised us:

Mercy=a blessing that is an act of divine favor or compassion

Grace=unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctification

Peace=freedom from disquieting or oppressive thoughts or emotions

and that He will be with us to comfort us, whether we are lonely, or going through some tough trials in our life, and He will give us rest, which is to say He will give us comfort
